Die Treppe

Established in 2021 by Jan Kiefer and organised alongside Othmar Farré, Die Treppe is an independent art and education format based in Basel. Primarily dedicated to the medium of painting, the project functions as an educational centre, fostering a specialised dialogue around contemporary pictorial practices.

By presenting a curated programme of solo and group exhibitions, Die Treppe provides a platform for both established and emerging voices to explore the evolving boundaries of the medium. Through its commitment to aesthetic research and cultural exchange, the space serves as a point of reference within the city’s contemporary art landscape.
