The Showroom

The Showroom is a not-for-profit contemporary art gallery that provides artists with the space and opportunities to research, experiment and take risks, creating work that engages meaningfully with audiences and addresses some of the most pressing issues of our time.

For over 40 years, The Showroom has been a pioneer of socially engaged art practice. It remains deeply committed to collaboration between artists and local community members, with whom it has built longstanding relationships through sustained collective work.

Its programme reaches diverse audiences through exhibitions, off-site projects, events, panel discussions, screenings, book launches, performances, workshops and other participatory activities. The Showroom also produces and shares knowledge through publications and online resources, alongside its programme for schools and young people.
