Liga
Space for Architecture, Mexico City is an independent initiative founded in Mexico City in 2011 that promotes exhibitions, conferences and workshops.
Liga was founded in 2011 as an initiative by Carlos Bedoya, Ruth Estévez, Wonne Ickx, Víctor Jaime, and Abel Perles to create a space for exhibition and reflection on architecture as a discursive practice. Primarily, it aims to showcase the work of Latin American architects in Mexico and to expand boundaries, always looking to the South; to establish connections between different practices and create an archive of young offices and creators from the region, recognizing the unique characteristics of architecture in Latin America, without discussing styles or falling into generalizations.
Through the many activities organised, Liga engages with other disciplines, independent spaces, and organisations, proposing a plural forum of voices. It focuses on linking ideas related to design processes, as well as the socio-political issues of the contexts in which they originate.
