Casa Cicca Museum

Via Arquà, 11, 20131 Milano MI, Italy

Casa Cicca Museum was established on 12 December 2012 in Porta Cicca, in the former residence of Deborah the Queen, a historical brothel in southern Milan. Initially adopted by Giulia Currà as a private home, it gradually assumed a museological role through the involvement of artists who contributed to the development of a collection now open to the public. Casa Cicca Museum defines itself as a repository.

Today it holds over 3,000 artworks, objects, books and documents, reflecting a reconsideration of private domestic space through artistic intervention. The museum has relocated twice, collaborating with artists, designers and architects in shaping its new premises. Each move has enabled new residents to assume responsibility for the traces of previous stages, ensuring continuity through relationships and artistic practice.

Its programme focuses on early-stage and experimental projects. Casa Cicca Museum operates as both an incubator and a working site, structured around research, memory and the ongoing revision of established languages and habits.
