Museo Casa Masaccio – Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea

Corso Italia, 83 San Giovanni Valdarno, Arezzo, Italy

Museo Casa Masaccio – Centro per l’Arte Contemporanea sustains an expanded program of exhibitions of contemporary art to enhance the creation of new artistic languages, to preserve the importance of the past and to elaborate a new idea of the future.
Keeping faith to Masaccio, that lived in the building during his youth, the Museum has a specific interest in the work of young artists able to propose new vision of contemporaneity.
Its Collection is composed by historical works, donations, acquisitions and a large video section. It’s been made up of works by artists who took part to the various editions of the Masaccio’s Prize (1958-1968), including Giovanni Anselmo, Alighiero Boetti, Fernando Farulli, Alberto Moretti, Francesco Guerrieri, Aldo Turchiaro, Sergio Scatizzi, as well as acquisitions and donations received from the 80s when the exhibition program started (Massimo Bartolini, Marinella Senatore, Davide Rivalta).
