Galleria di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea Raffaele De Grada is named after Italian painter Raffaele De Grada (Milan, 1855-1957) and collects numerous paintings that have San Gimignano as their main subject, the city where he moved to after World War I. The permanent collection includes records of XIX-century painters such as Niccolò Cannicci, Renato Guttuso, Sergio Vacchi, Ugo Nespolo, Marco Gastini e Carmelo Zotti. The gallery is placed next to the magnificent Torre Grossa, which offers the highest view of the city.
