Forte di Belvedere
Via San Leonardo 1, Florence
Besides being one of the best panoramic points in the city, Forte di Belvedere is a valuable architectural work created at the end of the sixteenth century by Bernardo Buontalenti by the will of Ferdinando I dei Medici. It represents the last stage of the Vasari Corridor, created to connect Palazzo Vecchio to Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens through a series of corridors, bridges and gardens. Since 2013 it has been hosting international contemporary art exhibitions.
