Museo Benaki

Founded in Athens in 1930 by collector and philanthropist Antonis Benakis, the Benaki Museum explores Greek culture through art, archaeology, design, photography and material heritage. Its network of venues includes the Museum of Greek Culture, the Pireos 138 cultural centre, the Museum of Islamic Art and several historic houses and specialised collections. Alongside its permanent displays, the museum presents temporary exhibitions, research projects, educational programmes and events connecting Greek history and culture with contemporary artistic practice.
