Museum of Contemporary Art, Krakow – MOCAK
Situated in the centre of the city, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow has been active since 1st February 2010.
The programme of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow MOCAK encompasses presentation of the latest international art, education as well as research and publication projects. MOCAK’s two most important aims are presenting the art of the two last decades in the context of the post-war avant-garde and conceptual art as well as clarifying the rationale of creating art by highlighting its cognitive and ethical value and its relationship with everyday reality. With exhibitions of well known Polish and foreign art, the gallery has established itself internationally.
The building was designed by Claudio Nardi, that attempted to make connections to the urban context of the location, putting emphasis on the cultural significance of the place.
