Marso Fundación
Marso was founded in 2011 as a platform for dialogue and participation for the international artistic community in Mexico City—especially for emerging artists—collaborating with cultural institutions and organizations, both national and international museums. From 2012 onwards, it also began operating as a commercial gallery, representing the work of 16 artists from various countries and participating in international art fairs.
In February 2018, commercial activities ceased in order to strengthen the institution’s role as a non-profit initiative, focused on developing projects that bridge contemporary art with social work, through exhibitions, research, and participatory action projects. The aim is to integrate creative thinking with other disciplines in dynamics that foster virtuous cycles and critical stances on issues such as gender, indigeneity, and environmental culture.
