Established in 1981 by Lin and Ted Arison, the National YoungArts Foundation (YoungArts) supports young artists in the visual, literary, design, and performing arts. Through annual programmes, performances, and partnerships with leading cultural institutions, it creates a strong alumni community and a platform for lifelong encouragement and opportunity.
Each year, thousands of artists aged 15–18 apply through a national competition. Award winners with distinction attend National YoungArts Week to develop their skills with internationally recognised mentors. Senior awardees may be nominated as U.S. Presidential Scholars in the Arts. All winners receive mentorship, financial awards, professional development, and membership in a supportive, intergenerational creative community.
