Founded in 2020 by Marina Nissim, entrepreneur and collector, Fondazione Elpis focuses on supporting young artists as a core part of its mission. The Foundation pursues its objectives through the organisation of exhibitions, residencies, educational activities, and projects spread across the entire country. With the aim of exploring areas and scenarios beyond traditional art circuits, Fondazione Elpis brings together seemingly distant worlds, engaging with the evolving languages of expression.

The decision to open a new venue in Milan in October 2022 stemmed from the projects and collaborations established in previous years on a national scale. The Foundation has thus built an ever-growing network, implementing new models of cultural participation and engagement.

An example of this is “Una Boccata d’Arte”, the contemporary art project that reached its fifth edition in 2024, created in collaboration with Galleria Continua and di Threes. This nationwide initiative involves 20 artists each year, tasked with creating site-specific installations, which are open to the public throughout the summer in 20 Italian villages, one in each region.
