Villa Stuck
The Villa Stuck, built in 1898 and established as a museum in 1992 and located in the Munich quarter of Bogenhausen, is a museum and historic house devoted to the life and work of the painter Franz Stuck. In contrast to the Classical architecture of the exterior, Stuck decorated the interior in striking Art Nouveau/Art Deco style.
Prinzregentenstr. 60, 81675, München
The Villa von Stuck is located in Munich’s Bogenhausen district. Since 1992 it has been open to the public as a museum. Here one can admire the historical home and studio of the Munich artist Franz von Stuck (1863-1928). Both the villa itself as well as the furnishings were all designed by the artist. Today, the museum is a large Gesamtkunstwerk of the Classical Art Nouveau works of this artist of humble origins, who was elevated to the rank of count for his artistic talents. A sumptuous residence, the villa includes private living quarters as well as reception rooms (reception hall, music room, boudoir, library, ladies’ lounge, fumoir etc.) and also the painter’s atelier.
