DOX Centre for Contemporary Art

The DOX Centre for Contemporary Art is a multifunctional space that focuses on the presentation of contemporary art, architecture and design. Established through a private initiative, its mission is to create a space for research, presentation, and debate on important social issues, where visual arts, literature, performing arts, and other disciplines encourage a critical view of the so-called reality of today’s world.

Housed in a redesigned former factory located in Prague-Holešovice, DOX features a total exhibition area of more than 3000 m2 plus a café, a bookshop, an award-winning design shop and a monumental architectural intervention called Gulliver Airship.

The Airship is a unique architectural intervention, inspired by the elegant shape of early twentieth-century airships, which has opened to the public in November 2016. The 42-metre-long steel and wood airship structure that “floats” above the roof of the DOX Centre serves for encounters between contemporary art and literature.
