Chácara do Céu – Museus Raymundo Ottoni de Castro Maya

The museum strategy implemented in the Castro Maya Museums was established through the definition of a triad for each of the museums to identify their specific cultural practice. The Chácara do Céu Museum is located in a house in Santa Tereza, known as Chácara do Céu, inherited by Castro Maya in 1936. It was demolished in 1954 and replaced by a residence designed by architect Wladimir Alves de Souza with modernist features. The museum holds temporary exhibitions and displays its collection of artworks, rare books, furniture and decorative pieces.
