Museo Pinuccio Sciola – Giardino Sonoro

Via Oriana Fallaci, 09026 San Sperate CA, Italy

The Giardino Sonoro is an open-air museum and the place where Pinuccio Sciola began working in the 1960s, using it as his artistic laboratory. Over the decades, he shaped a unique environment in complete harmony with nature, transforming it into an exhibition site at the beginning of the 21st century.

A landscape of megalithic stones unfolds through a timeless artistic space in constant evolution, inviting visitors to wander freely through the citrus grove without signs or prescribed routes. Among the monumental stones, the garden creates a magical sense of discovery and disorientation, encouraging a deeply personal experience.

It is a place where art speaks every language. Here, basalt and limestone resonate with evocative sounds that are ancient, primal, and almost mystical. Stone "seeds" are sown as symbols of culture taking root in nature, while, after dark, granite sculptures reveal unexpected three-dimensional surfaces under raking light.

Immersed in lush greenery and filled with creative energy, the Sound Garden engages all the senses, offering visitors a unique encounter with art and nature. It is a living landscape, where even its most still and silent element—the stone—comes vividly to life.
