Landhuis Oud Amelisweerd
From 31 August 2012, the country house was managed by the Stichting Museum Oud Amelisweerd (MOA). In the spring of 2014, the historic country estate of the estate of the same name was opened to the public. The ensemble of country house, coach house and garden is one of the top 100 of the national monuments in the Netherlands. The country house is surrounded by a park landscape that has been laid out in the spirit of the Enlightenment.
The museum showed three collections in conjunction: the broadest and largest collection of works by Armando , the historic estate of Oud Amelisweerd and unique Chinese and other historical wallpapers. These three collections are linked by the central theme of MOA: the relationship between man and nature. On 22 May 2016, MOA received the prestigious Europa Nostra Award for cultural heritage in the category ‘Outstanding achievements in the conservation, enhancement and adaptation to new uses of cultural heritage’. Museum MOA was closed in 2018 because it was not profitable enough and Armando had withdrawn his collection. The municipality of Utrecht, which owns the building, was looking for a new destination for the building
