Fountainhead

Residency 690 NE 56th Street; Studios 7338 NW, Miami

Fountainhead is founded in 2008 by Kathryn and Dan Mikesell, collectors who believe that connecting people closely with artists can shape how communities engage with one another and address contemporary issues. Created to support artists and strengthen Miami’s arts ecosystem, Fountainhead combines a residency for national and international artists with a studios complex for local practitioners. It has welcomed nearly 580 artists from 50 countries and engages thousands of visitors each year. In 2019, it launched Artists Open, a countywide open-studios event involving more than 300 Miami artists.

Fountainhead supports artists by fostering connections, providing time and space for experimentation, and offering mentorship and professional development. Over 17 years, it has become a leading force in Miami’s cultural landscape, developing innovative programmes and building partnerships with major South Florida arts institutions.
