The Margulies Collection at the Warehouse is a nonprofit institution located in a 50,000-square-foot retrofitted warehouse in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District. It presents seasonal exhibitions from the collection of Martin Z. Margulies, along with educational programmes, special exhibitions, and an international loan programme. The Warehouse is operated and funded by the Martin Z. Margulies Foundation, which has supported the study and appreciation of visual arts for over thirty years.
In 1998, Martin Z. Margulies and curator Katherine Hinds began seeking a space to display the growing collection of photography, video, installations, and sculpture. The first phase of the Warehouse opened in 1999 with an event benefiting the Lowe Museum at the University of Miami. After several expansions, the venue now offers 50,000 square feet of exhibition space and set weekly hours. It is open to the public from October to April, welcoming thousands of students and visitors annually.
