Palazzo Butera – Collezione Valsecchi
Located in the main street of the ancient district of Kalsa, Palazzo Butera still bears the signs of the historical and cultural stratifications which involved the city of Palermo over the past decades.
Acquired and restored by Francesca Frua de Angeli and Massimo Valsecchi, the palace is an open and interdisciplinary laboratory, furnished with a reach library and galleries to host temporary exhibitions; the first floor houses conferences and events, while the second one has become permanent home to the Francesca & Massimo Valsecchi’s art collection, currently on long-term loan to the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge and the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford (UK), and remains open to temporary exhibitions of other international museums’ collections.
