Parco Sculture del Chianti
The Chianti Sculpture Park, inaugurated in 2004, is a permanent exhibition of contemporary and site-specific sculptures created by artists from over 20 countries.
The exhibition connects art to nature as the sculptures are made to enhance this rich environment of trees, sounds, colors and lights.
An amphitheatre, the only one in the Province of Siena, hosts events and concerts in summertime.
The App “ChiantiPark” has been created to enjoy better your visit, as it works as an audio guide. Free download it on Apple Store or Google Play.
Pievasciata, the little village in the heart of Sienese Chianti country, is being transformed into a ‘Borgo d’Arte Contemporanea’ – a Hamlet of Contemporary Art. The project, born from collaboration between the cultural association of FRIENDS OF THE PARK, the district of Castelnuovo Berardenga, the province of Siena and the Region of Tuscany plans the installation of a dozen art works at Pievasciata and surrounding area.
The idea is to involve both private persons and institutions to display works of art on their own land with a view to enhancing a specific area such as the Chianti, famous for its wine and picturesque old hamlets. So far eleven works have been installed.
