Tusciaelecta – Mauro Staccioli, Greve ’97 (Stollo), 1997/2009

Greve in Chianti, FI, Italy

Conceived in 1996 by Fabio Cavallucci and Sergio Bettini and curated since 2002 by Arabella Natalini, Tusciaelecta is a public art event aimed at producing a model of redefinition of the landscape and urban fabric through the insertion of contemporary works of art in Chianti. Mauro Staccioli’s work, “Stollo”, was created in 1997 for Greve in Chianti on the occasion of the “Tusciaelecta” exhibition. Following a restoration work by local workers, the sculpture by Mauro Staccioli was relocated, definitively in 2009, to its current position. Since the 1960s, Staccioli’s works have been characterized by their strong link with the physical space aimed, at the same time, at reinterpreting both the shape and the history of the place.
