In Liberty We Trust: Gabriella Ciancimino

Organised by Accademia di Belle Arti Di Palermo and curated by Daniela Bigi and Gianna Di Piazza, together with Mario Zito (Director of the Academy of Fine Arts), who share the artistic direction of Palazzo Ziino and are Professors at the Academy of Fine Arts of Palermo.

Starting from the forms and the symbology of the garden, political and cultural landscapes of the past shed light on the contemporary landscape.
Large wall drawings investigate the concept of monumentality. Works on paper, mural paintings, installations build a journey through a jungle that invites us to an elementary feeling. A political reflection constructed with a language that rereads Arab-Norman architectures and Liberty-style decoration, contaminating them with painting, graffiti, performance, graphic-design, video.
