The Landscape has always been a metaphor for the relationship between man and the environment, as well as where a reciprocal integration can be derived.
The botanical history of “Vagabond” plants shows just how often man has played a primary role in their spread. These “Vagabonds” are an opportunity for a smaller scaled urban Wilderness, without anything noteworthy happening and disrupting our horizontal perception.
In their relative diversity, these apparently marginal elements are able to enlarge our spatial and geographic dimension when alone, and influence how we usually understand the concept of nature in our various environments. This is the case of “Vagabond” plants, according to the definition of Giles Clément, author of Manifeste du Tiers paysage. These “Vagabonds” are also the objects of the study.
The work is made up of photographic images of an urban and extra-urban itinerary, where “Vagabond” plants can be identified in the environmental perception of each specific location and their short botanical history.
