Bestiari
The project features an immersive audiovisual exhibit from nature parks and a public research program celebrating Catalunya's landscapes.
Title: Bestiari
Organised by: The Institut Ramon Llull
Curator: Filipa Ramos
Artist: Carlos Casas
Inspired by a medieval text where animals demand interspecies justice, “Bestiari” is a hypnagogic environment with sounds and images of creatures from Catalonia.
The installation departs from the medieval text “Disputa de l’ase” by Anselm Turmeda that tells of a man trialed by animals questioning human superiority.
The exhibition pays tribute to these animals with sounds and images. Using Ambisonics 3D infrasound, it presents frequencies beyond human senses.
Large projections from each species’ perspective create hypnotic encounters, blurring reality and dream. “Bestiari” explores hope today, connecting past and present communalities, delving into the unconscious in ecology, and pondering alternative ways of living.
