The Endless Spiral: Betsabee Romero
A research project and solo exhibition by Mexican visual artist Betsabeé Romero known for her diverse body of work.
In collaboration with the Museum of Latin American Art, the Foundation Bevilacqua La Masa will host The Endless Spiral at Piazza San Marco Gallery, a research project and solo exhibition by Mexican visual artist Betsabeé Romero.
With over forty-one solo exhibitions worldwide, Romero’s art encourages the creation of a critical discourse about issues such as migration, miscegenation, and mobility through the re-semanticization of symbols and daily rituals of the global consumer culture, such as cars, tattoos, urban signage, etc.
She is interested in addressing the problems of public art and popular art, its permanence, and its relationship with the social fabric and alternative audiences to contemporary art. The artist is known for her diverse body of work, including sculpture, installations, etchings, perforated paper, photography, and video.
