Country

This project sees the collaborations between Italian artist Giorgia Severi and Aboriginal artists from different parts of Australia. The artworks, made from two different cultural points of view, share together the process of visual storytelling through art, facing the same themes seen from two different cultures.

The artist thinks “Each population develops its own behaviors in relation on its own land.
This relationship develops its own cultures , customs and tradition.
Each culture has inside itself the characters of its own Mother Land,
so called Connection with the Country.
If you chop down a scarred tree, you should do the same to the colosseum,
because from a cultural point of view, they have the same value: history, culture, architecture, customs, traditions and so on that belongs to people related to a place. It’s the memory of human presence.”
