Pedagogy of Hope​

“Pedagogy of Hope” is the seventh edition of Radio GAMeC, the digital platform of GAMeC – Galleria d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Bergamo, presented as a Collateral Event of the 61st International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia. Curated by Lorenzo Giusti and Lara Facco, the project reinterprets the radio platform as a device for listening and a tool for critical, participatory learning.

The programme broadcasts from the premises of a historic local radio station situated between the Arsenale and the Giardini. It functions as a temporary broadcaster and a digital archive of voices and reflections. The project draws inspiration from the work of Brazilian educator Paulo Freire, questioning which forms of knowledge are essential for understanding contemporary reality and fostering autonomy in an increasingly automated digital context.

The programme develops through conversations with international artists, curators, educators, and activists. These encounters aim to foster a cross-cutting dialogue on education as a practice of freedom and transformation. Following the opening week, the content continues to be available online, building an oral archive of learning that remains accessible as a public resource.
