A boat turned upside down and supported by its own oars is the impressive interactive work that is exhibited on the Island of San Servolo as a symbolic location for the landing of boats, a strip of land that has welcomed and repaired throughout the long Venetian history, offering its temporary guests stop for reflection and regeneration. And it is precisely in this juncture full of humanity that the installation fits, proposing itself as a protected and safe place: a boat-house under whose “roof” we are offered the opportunity to escape, re-find ourselves, re – flex and re-design ourselves. An inviolable living space which, due to its historical connotations, assumes the sacredness of the Latin Pomerium.

The “Senza Terra / Pomerio” project therefore acts as a universal message of love and solidarity, a celebratory hymn to the exiles, refugees, the Landless of every nation in order to offer them an ideal place to find asylum under the concept of the sacredness of common living
