Aeroponic Acts 2026: Dawn Seeds

The itinerant Master's programme Roaming Academy of the Dutch Art Institute (Arnhem, NL) returns to Centrale Fies to conclude its two-year educational journey with a public presentation of performative actions developed by its graduating cohort.

AEROPONIC ACTS 2026: DAWN SEEDS unfolds as 41 conversations in the form of acts. Lasting 20 minutes each, the performances use conversation as a method of engagement, reflection, and collective inquiry. Invited respondents Adam HajYahia, Antonia Majaca, and Zairong Xiang enter into dialogue with the propositions emerging from each work, offering improvised reflections that help illuminate the ideas, positions, and imaginaries embodied by the 41 graduating artists.

Curated by Elisa Giuliano, who will accompany audiences throughout the programme, the ACTS transform dialogue into a performative and shared experience. Saverio Cantoni joins the project as Guest Writer 2026, while the programme is conceived and convened by Gabriëlle Schleijpen.

Drawing inspiration from Octavia E. Butler’s Dawn and David Graeber and David Wengrow’s The Dawn of Everything, DAWN SEEDS reflects on grief, transformation, and the possibility of imagining new futures. Dreams emerge not as forms of escape but as dormant seeds, rehearsals for worlds that resist inherited narratives and predetermined endings. Within this framework, the acts become spaces where artistic research, embodied knowledge, and speculative thought converge, opening pathways toward alternative ways of understanding and inhabiting the present.

Across five days, performances, conversations, and collective gestures create a temporary landscape of exchange and experimentation, where art functions as a tool for imagining, rehearsing, and enacting forms of togetherness yet to come.
