On the occasion of the International Museum Day
Date // Thursday May 18th 2017 at 19:00
In collaboration with the Athens Museum of Queer Arts, Atopos cvc and neo-situationist duo FYTA present an installation/performance/symposium on the notion of the “queer” and its relation to the local (greek) context. On this occasion they will examine queer’s political currency in 2017, the integration of the term in Greek discourse and its recent institutional appropriation.
FYTA’s work deals with identity politics, questions of avantgarde art in times of crisis and the possibility of political activism through creative means. Their work has been showcased in Greece, the UK, Germany and Switzerland. FYTA are currently working as curators for the upcoming installment (2018) of the Athens Biennial.
