Artist Talk with Tobias Rehberger
The German artist Tobias Rehberger (*1966) is one of the best known artists working today. The Professor of Sculpture at the Städelschule in Frankfurt, he was awarded the Golden Lion at the 53rd Biennale in Venice. Tobias Rehberger’s environments, furniture, sculptures and installations, often playing with 1960s and ’70s design styles, have made him a focus of interest for art criticism stressing contextual approaches and cross-over aspirations.
To coincide with the presentation of his new mural 1661-1910 from Nagasaki, Meiji, Setti, 2015, Tobias Rehberger will talk to Theodora Vischer, Senior Curator at the Fondation Beyeler, about his work as an artist and his current projects.
The talk will be in English. Attendance is included in the price of museum admission.
