Autonomous Avatar

The piece by Tobias Staab is an immersive dance performance at the intersection of human and machine, where analog and virtual realities merge. On a round stage covered in flowers, two dancers take their first steps, fall, rise again, and struggle against invisible forces. Using motion-capture technology, their movements are transformed into digital avatars projected across the stage walls. An AI-generated soundscape and the distinctive voice of actress Sandra Hüller draw the audience into a hypnotic, almost surreal world.
