Oppressed by privilege / Privileged by oppression – Riot of the Privileged

The two bands OPPRESSED BY PRIVILEGE and PRIVILEGED BY OPPRESSION, consisting of privileged white members, will each perform their inaugural concert – concurrently. In accordance with democratic principles, the public was invited to submit original texts in response to the respective band names. The submitted texts serve as the raw material that the artists then adapt and interpret musically, within in the live concert during Art Basel.

Participating artists are Daniela Brugger, Vera Bruggmann, Franziska Baumgartner, Daniela Caderas, Laura Endtner, Lysann König, Nora Locher, Marlon McNeill, Julia Minnig, Lea Rüegg, Arlene Sagada, Sarina Scheidegger, Alena Stählin, Sarah&Natascha.

All original texts will be compiled and published in book form by Stingray Editions.
