Fotanian Open Studios 2015

Initiated by Hong Kong’s arts and creative talents, the Fotanian Open Studio Programme is a major event of Hong Kong’s art community. Commenced more than 10 years ago, the event sees soaring participating artists and visitors year by year. In the past, Fotanian was held in January with a down-scaled public opening in March also facilitating visitors to the Art Basel Hong Kong to explore too their artists. At the Fotanian AGM last year, it was decided to host the Fotanian 2015 in March for a more synergistic arts exhibition. During the event period, art studios of the Fo Tan Industrial District will be open for free public tours. Different artworks and designs will be displayed, including but not limited to paintings, installations, printmakings, sculptures, ceramics, fashion items, and video works.
To facilitate appreciation of the local art community, maps on the exhibition halls will be distributed and guided tours will be arranged. There are also Shuttle Buses traveling to and from Fo Tan with Fotanian Helpers on the buses introducing the event. As a platform to strengthen the artist community as well as to support and empower artists in Fo Tan, Fotanian will focus on stimulating opportunities for sharing experience and ideas among artists as well as with the public while creating visibility of the arts.
