Visual artist Stan Douglas will discuss his practice, which investigates how film and photography influence our understanding of history. Douglas employs intensive research and meticulous attention to detail, while utilizing live actors, costumes, props and sets to render real and imagined scenes from the past with uncanny accuracy. Douglas’ work Luanda-Kinshasa (2013)—jointly acquired by PAMM and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art—is on view through September 25, 2016.
