Eyebeam/Subtropics Biennial Digital Sound Performance

645 Michigan Avenue

Eyebeam, the country’s leading art and technology center, teams up with Miami Beach-based Subtropics Biennial of Experimental Music and Sound Art and event series to present an extended duration digital sound performance featuring Wolfgang Gil and Gustavo Matamoros.

Wolfgang Gil is a New York based Venezuelan sound artist and programmer, explores the interrelationship of sound, the listener, and the space of listening. For his day job, Wolfgang is an Eyebeam staff member.

Gustavo Matamoros has been creating temporary and permanent sound installations in indoor and outdoor space since the late 80s. His work stems from the notion that sound is the audible representation of change and what surrounds us. He founded and runs the audiotheque, a space for experiencing live electro-acoustic and experimental music, and the biannual Subtropics music festival.
