In 2014 the Miami art community mourned the great loss of Robert Huff, an exceptional artist and teacher to many. Spanning nearly fifty years, the two- and three-dimensional works in Robert Huff: 47 Years traces the aesthetic development of the artist and longtime Miami resident. Huff drew inspiration for his painted and constructed works from the natural landscape and from architecture, re-casting these elements to form a personal vocabulary of abstraction. The aesthetic output of his oeuvre is by turns intuitive and playful, and also sober and exacting, but always highly personal. The works selected celebrate the remarkable consistency in Huff’s vision throughout many years.
