Laufen In Miami
During the week of ArtBasel Miami Beach Laufen will be present in Miami with many art initiatives:
From December 2 to December 7, Laufen presents the first US presentation of the SaphirKeramik project by iconic designers Konstantin Grcic (b. 1965, Germany) and Toan Nguyen (b. 1969, Paris) at Miami Ironside. The designers worked with the groundbreaking new ceramic material SaphirKeramik, allowing the form of wafer-thin walls and tight-edge radii. The presentation takes the viewer through the creative design process resulting in a revolutionary new design for Laufen Bathrooms.
Laufen is part of Design Escape at Miami Ironside – an 8-day activation featuring bespoke art exhibitions, a FIAT 500 showcase, lounge by Ron Arad for Italian company Moroso, panel discussions and performances. The week offers art and design patrons a creative escape and meeting point to socialize and exchange amongst industry friends.
Laufen presents the Campus Collective Party in Miami on December 3, 7 – 11 pm.Miami Ironside‘s creative community together with Laufen North America open their showrooms and studios for a serenading night of creative and social opulence, music and performances. Co-host is the Museum of Contemporary of Art North Miami (MOCA).
In addition, emergent Swiss designer Tom Strala (b. 1974, Zürich) receives a platform in Laufen’s new US office and showroom to showcase Strala‘s unusual approach to material, light, and form. Strala is a master of understanding three-dimensions, employing geometrical games to compose stunning and precise lighting, furniture, and objects of art. Strala‘s work is available for purchase through his U.S. Gallery, The NWBLK.
