Markus & Koala and Richard Orlinski

The event, co-hosted by Markowicz Fine Art and the National Hotel Miami Beach introduce Markus&Koala and Richard Orlinski (b. 1966, Paris).

PHOTO Magazine has partnered with Markus&Koala for a Live Photoshoot with Supermodel, Nina Agdal to take place at their Art Basel Miami debut on Friday, December 5th, 2014 at 6pm at The National Hotel Miami Beach. The cover will reintroduce the magazine’s longstanding December Supermodel Issue, which has previously featured the likes of Claudia Schiffer, Linda Evangelista, Kate Moss, and Gisele Bundchen.

Fresh new photography duo Markus&Koala absorb, process, and reflect pop culture through visuals. Together, they capture their subjects’ raw and emotional energy in a striking and modern way. The upcoming exhibit will showcase early outtakes of the upcoming book, Role Model which will feature over 100 never before seen photographs depicting an array of celebrities that include actors, pop stars, athletes, top models, and other personalities. The book is scheduled to be released in early 2016.

Additionally, internationally renowned sculptor, Richard Orlinski, will showcase a selection of his large-scale figures from his “Born Wild” series, among them such well-known works as Stiletto-Rouge, Black Panther and Croc Resin Noir Wild Neck. The installation will be featured in the National Hotel’s famous 205-foot infinity pool, lawn and gardens from December 4 – 7th.

The art show will also feature the work of Markus + Indrani, recognized for some of music’s most iconic album covers, including Beyonce for her solo debut “Dangerously in Love”, David Bowie’s “Heathen” album, and Mariah Carey’s “Emancipation of Mimi” among others.
