Picasso’s La Tauromaquia at the Bakehouse
Bakehouse Art Complex, 561 NW 32nd Street, Wynwood
In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Bakehouse Art Complex, in conjunction with Bank of America’s Art in our Communities Program will unveil the Miami debut of Pablo Picasso’s landmark La Tauromaquia exhibition, on-view at the Bakehouse’s Audrey Love Gallery from Oct. 15 – Oct. 28.
The La Tauromaquia exhibition features a series of 26 aquatint etchings illustrating what was once one of the most important themes of Catalan culture, the art of the bullfight. Picasso completed this body of work in 1957 as an homage to the famous eighteenth century matador Jose Delgado Guerra, known colloquially as “Pepe Hillo.”
