Vernacular Compulsion is the result of a semester-long project initiated by artist and faculty member Don Lambert in collaboration with a group of current students at New World School of the Arts.
Over the course of a semester the group researched the history and function of urban gardens, concentrating on European forms and their influence on the development of gardens in North America and South Florida, in particular. This exhibition is a result of our investigations.
