Wynwood Walls 10 Year Anniversary During Art Basel 2019
Wynwood Walls was conceived in 2009 by the real estate developer and arts passionate Tony Goldman: the entrepreneur thought to revitalise the warehouse district of Wynwood, Miami, through street art and graffiti, a usually underrated artistic genre. The Wynwood Walls initiated from this inspiration, bringing in a few years some of the greatest graffiti artists to intervene in the area and creating a new gravitating spot for art-passionate visitors and professionals.
This year, the cultural centre celebrates his tenth anniversary through a series of events during Art Basel in Miami Beach 2019. In just ten years, the area has become the pulsating heart of the Wynwood district, a premier destination for art, fashion, innovation, and creative enterprise – welcoming more than 2 million visitors just in the current year.
A varied programme of events has been set up to celebrate the occasion, starting on Monday, November 25th:
