Dropcity 2026

Dropcity presents a programme that intertwines exhibition projects, research, and experimentation. The 2026 edition focuses on laboratory infrastructure, featuring a large permanent ensemble dedicated to prototyping and manufacturing. Over ten laboratories — including ceramics, textiles, carpentry, 3D printing, and recycling labs — function as stable facilities.

The exhibition hosted is dedicated to “Ordinary Beauty. An Italian Scenario”, a volume edited by Associates Architecture that investigates the relationship between the ordinary and architecture within the practice of sixty-one Italian firms. Through an exhibition path that delves into the projects and themes addressed in the book, the showcase offers an original perspective on contemporary Italian architectural production.

“Ordinary Beauty” combines two seemingly antithetical values to describe a generation of architects who, in their daily work, dismantle the boundary between the ordinary and beauty, and between construction and architecture.
