Honminoshi Garden at Casa Gifu by atelier oï
atelier oï presents “ Honminoshi Garden” at CASA GIFU – an interpretation of a captured moment in Japan’s nature.
In the context of a series of different projects realized with Japanese manufactures, atelier oï presents an installation expressing the values of a 1300 year old know-how, of paper production handcrafted. In collaboration with the Gifu Prefecture of Japan.
On the occasion of the Milan Design Week 2016, April 12 to 17, atelier oï curates the realization of Casa Gifu: an environment in which lists a series of complements of furniture and lighting developed in line with the ancient knowledge of Gifu Prefecture .
Each space is designed like a fantasy room, where matter and production of each item are highlighted in a cultural atmosphere and sharing visions converge.
In a lived and playfully decorated environment, Casa Gifu presents the Fusion lamp, produced by Danish and developed in collaboration with Asano Shoten and Hida Sangyo, known as Ozeki & Co., manufacturers of traditional Japanese paper lanterns for over a century, and especially , since 1951, the iconic AKARI light sculptures by Isamu Noguchi.
An interdisciplinary collaboration that plays on the different cultural influences: the interaction of know-how, materials and structures creates a new type of lamp where tradition, modernity and Japanese expertise blend with the culture and the Italian design.
