Miu Miu Literary Club
Now in its third iteration, the Miu Miu Literary Club – conceived and directed by Miuccia Prada – returns as a space for dialogue and critical thinking, building a bridge between great literature and our times. Following Writing Life and A Woman’s Education, the Miu Miu Literary Club has chosen “Politics of Desire” as its main theme, fostering a discourse on sexuality, desire and consent. As in previous editions, the event aims to further strengthen Miu Miu’s dialogue with contemporary culture, from the personal to the political, and from literature to life.
This fourth edition centres on two works by masters of writing: Annie Ernaux, winner of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Literature, and Ama Ata Aidoo, one of the most authoritative figures in African literature and an icon of postcolonial feminist thought. In this new chapter, the conversations confront the political nature of desire: not merely a private impulse or an emotional tension, but a force that determines the right to exercise self-determination. When desire breaks through the patterns imposed by society, it ceases to be an intimate matter and becomes an act of resistance.
