Club Glam Paris – Flash Art
On the occasion of her contribution to Flash Art Fall issue titled ‘CODED SURFACES’, DeSe Escobar will bring ‘Club Glam’ to Paris, an event run by Flash Art & Études hosted by Silencio Club during Paris+ par Art Basel.
Club Glam is a club night conceived by DeSe Escobar as an ideal space for young creatives offering an outlet for unbridled freedom of expression. Club Glam hosted a new era of fashion designers that changed the New York fashion scene. DeSe Escobar applied the playful current of her art practice to the club night’s promotion creating the ‘Glampaigns’ in collaboration with other artists and videographers, on inspired by fashion video ads which worked as video promotions.
Flash Art is a contemporary art and culture magazine founded in 1967 by Giancarlo Politi. In 1978, under the co-direction of Helena Kontova, Flash Art was published in two separate edition – respectively international and italian, shortly becoming a reference point for artists, critics, collectors, galleries and institutions. Today, under the new direction of publishers Gea Politi and Cristiano Seganfreddo, Flash Art made a complete re-branding and progressively increased its size positioning it as one of the most interesting voices in contemporary culture. Flash Art offers in-depth analysis of artists’ practice and investigates new cultural directions, keeping an eye on broader perspectives at the thought of art and visual culture.
