Event: L’oreille complice
For nearly 20 years, the Electroacoustic Composition Workshop at the Vitry-sur-Seine Conservatory has been developing a form of composition known as acousmatic music. This type of computer-based music is described as non-idiomatic, meaning it involves all sounds, rather than being limited exclusively to notes, harmonies, melodies, and instrumental sounds.
The composers who attend this workshop have visited the exhibition “L’œil vérité” and imagined musical responses to specific artworks of their choosing, including paintings, sculptures, installations, and even entire rooms.
From 7 to 18 October 2024, their responses, comments, paraphrases, or musical metaphors will be available for headphone listening via a dedicated QR code.
On Saturday, 19 October 2024, a live concert featuring some of these compositions, accompanied by musical actions, will be held within the “L’œil vérité” exhibition, with two performances during the day.
Artistic coordination: Philippe Mion, head of the Conservatory’s Workshop. With music by Édlira Braka, Michel Coury, Anita Glodek, Érika Hernandez, Julie Mondor, Benoît Poulain, Françoise Rivalland.
Supported by La Muse en Circuit. Free with museum entry. Duration: approx. 50 minutes.
