Semana de Arte

Running September 1 -3, 2018, Semana de Arte is an art fair gathering Brazilian and international galleries under an innovative curatorial concept. This edition is curated by Mexican Pablo León de La Barra and will be concentrated for the first time in the unique venue of  Pavilhão das Culturas Brasileiras, in Parque Ibirapuera, designed by Oscar Niemeyer. An initiative by gallerists Luisa Strina and Thiago Gomide, cultural entrepreneur Emilio Kalil and curator Ricardo Sardenberg, the Semana de Arte aims to honor, discuss and expand a market that has been growing exponentially for the last 15 years, in the city that has consolidated itself as its epicenter.

The Art Week programme features lectures, films and architectural tours, besides several individual and group exhibitions by renowned artists, with some special focuses on selected themes such as the modernist heritage of national and foreign art.
