Sónar+D
Created in Barcelona in 1994, the Sónar festival arrives to its third edition in Brazil. Proposing to create new world tendencies in the fields of music, creativity and technology, the event brings, other than concerts, the international conference Sónar+D, which takes place at the Red Bull Station from November 25 to 28.
With a free programme and curated by Hermano Vianna, Ronaldo Lemos and Alê Youssef, the event departs from the concept of “redoing”, as in the curators’ view, nowadays, everything must be rebuilt, including life in the city, the relationship with money, the music industry and everyday habits.
During this period, the building will be occupied by several activities, such as lectures and debates, focused on: maker spirit, StartUps and new music business. The Galeria Transitória, on the second floor, will receive the exhibition Area 91, by photographer Thales Leite (b. 1979, Rio de Janeiro), who makes a connection between the technical apparels of tecnobrega (a form of music from northern Brazil) and OVNIs.
The event will also comprise an environment dedicated to StartUps and an innovation Maker Lab, with digital equipment and electronic kits. Guided tours to the Sónar+D Maker Space will be organized on a daily basis, featuring talks with entrepreneurs and workshops.
The first three days of the event will be closed with happy hours at the Cafeteria, with music by former students of Red Bull Music Academy: Mauricio Fleury (25/11/2015), Carrot Green (26/11/2015) and GrassMass (27/11/2015).
Except for debates and lectures, which require previous inscriptions, all activities are open for the public.
